Centrosome behaviour during meiosis I in primary Drosophila spermatocytes.
Recording of gamma-Tubulin23C-GFP reveals centrosome location at both spindle poles during meiosis I. During telophase I, each centrosome splits into two, that move around the daughter nuclei in preparation for meiosis II.
Centriole behaviour during meiosis I in primary Drosophila spermatocytes.
Recording of the centriolar marker YFP-Asl during meiosis I reveals the migration of the two pair of centriole towards the nuclear membrane before meiosis I. After they are located opposite each other the nuclear envelope breaks down and from then on the two pair of centrioles are located at both spindle poles for the rest of meiosis I. Splitting of the centrioles occurs at telophase I.

Recording of the centriolar marker YFP-Asl during meiosis I reveals the location of the two centriole duplosomes at the spindle poles. At telophase I centriole splitting takes place and the individual centrioles migrate around the daughter nuclei in preparation for meiosis II.
